Timing. When should I begin to discuss putting my property on the market?
As early as possible so C. Howard King can advise you how best to maximise your property's potential in advance of putting it on the market.

Will I need insurance cover?
Yes, you will need third party cover as well as cover for the building and your own personal contents.

Will letting affect my mortgage?
Yes. It is wise to get approval from your bank or building society.

What extras does the Landlord pay?
Any service charges and the insurance on the property. The tenant is responsible for all utilities.

What about the tenancy agreement?
This will be drawn up by C. Howard King. Occasionally tenants/Landlords wish to use the services of a solicitor.

Is an independant inventory clerk necessary?
In our experience very definitely yes. It is preferable for an independant body to check the property in and out having prepared a full inventory on the state of the property. This simplifies the return of any security monies at the end of the term, allowing it to be apportioned appropriately
